Middle States is pleased to announce the appointment of Amber Berry, Ed.M. as Director of Strategic Initiatives. In this new role for the organization Berry will focus on expanding programs and services to better meet the needs of member schools in the U.S. and around the world.

“I am thrilled that Amber is joining our team, and look forward to working with her on a number of important strategic projects,” said Middle States President Christian Talbot. “The Director of Strategic Initiatives position was created to allow Middle States to more fully pursue our mission to promote school improvement on behalf of the 2.2 million students in member schools around the world.

“Amber’s background as a teacher, school administrator and thought leader, and her experience with the Middle States accreditation process, make her uniquely suited to this role.”

Berry is the current Head of Middle School for St. Luke’s School in New Canaan, Conn. Previously she served as chair of the school’s World Language Department, and Director of the Fellows Program. Berry earned her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, attended Middlebury College for her master’s degree and received her Ed.M. from Columbia University.

Berry plans to relocate with her family this summer, and will formally join Middle States in the fall.
