Ligia V. Alberto, Ed.D., Director Of The Bergenfield Alternative School, Appointed As Middle States Commissioner

Alberto’s work as director overseeing day-to-day operations provides enriching learning opportunities for students of all abilities. She previously served as director of assessment and a school counselor at Bergenfield High School. Alberto earned her bachelor’s degree from Lehman College in Bronx, N.Y., and a master’s degree in counseling from Mercy College, in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. She recently completed her Doctor of Education at Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J.

Alberto’s understanding and expertise in an array of educational areas provides a strong support structure for Middle States.  “I am pleased that Ligia has agreed to join Middle States as a Commissioner,” said Lisa Marie McCauley, Ed.D., president of the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools. “She brings a proven record of success in teaching, school counseling and administrative management, and will be an asset to Middle States.”
