On behalf of the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools, I want to thank you for all that you have done over the past six months to ensure that your students continue to have access to a quality education.

Though the start of this school year is different from any other, I still want to take a moment to welcome you back and remind you that Middle States is here to serve as a resource as you and your school communities navigate this new environment.

The Middle States team is committed to helping you manage the challenges ahead so that your school and your students are able to meet the demands of our times, while also continuing to grow and improve.

We have successfully developed a new way of handling accreditation visits through a blended/virtual approach so that schools continue to benefit from the power of peer review.

Dozens of team chairs, team members and school leaders have completed training in this new approach and are solidly prepared for the upcoming fall visits.

In addition, I am proud to announce that we will be moving 56 schools forward for accreditation action next month as planned and have nearly 100 visits planned for this fall.

We also have a robust schedule of webinars and trainings available and are routinely offering opportunities for you to learn from our network of more than 2,600 member schools around the world.

For more information or to register, visit our website.

In closing, I wish you much success for a productive and positive school year and hope that as you head back to your classrooms – whether in person or remotely – that you meet the new semester with a sense of excitement and possibility that every new beginning brings.

Sincerely,

Lisa Marie McCauley, Ed.D.
President, Middle States Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools
